Are you a dynamic and driven Assistant Project Manager seeking an interesting new opportunity?
Here at National Highways, we have an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join the Regional Investment Programme (RIP) division within the Major Projects (MP) directorate.
The successful candidate can be based in Leeds or Manchester, however here at National Highways, we have a hybrid working approach, meaning the role will be a combination of office/site attendance and agile home working.
In this role you will contribute to the planning and delivery of internal improvement projects and initiatives within the Regional Investment Programme, carrying out assigned project work to ensure the achievement of project objectives within agreed time, quality, and cost thresholds; maintaining effective governance, quality assurance, health and safety, technical and specialist standards.
What you’ll be leading on
- Contribute to the creation of high quality baseline management products, produce timely and accurate reports, and create and maintain specified records.
- Plan and define project steps or schedules, consistent with defined review milestones and priorities, to contribute to the design of the overall project plan.
- Identify, implement and monitor day-to-day support for the project activities including project controls, contract compliance, risk management, Health & Safety, financial management and reporting, document control, assurance and governance.
- Lead on a number of programme initiatives, and coordinating the associated internal and external stakeholder management requirements
To be successful you’ll need
- Strong collaborator, able to gain the involvement and engagement of a wide range of stakeholders with ability to deal positively with conflicting priorities.
- Ability to clarify and ensure understanding of strategies and solutions, and the implications for the project you are working on
- Strong analytical skills, to develop, analyse and provide commentary on project plans and performance.
- Demonstratable understanding of project control processes (risk management, Cost management, planning & scheduling and baseline management)
- Experience of working in a fast paced, integrated project environment.
