The team
Our News team delivers high quality and trustworthy television and online coverage that regularly attracts audiences in excess of 3.5 million viewers. It’s a fast moving environment with a huge variety of roles and challenges on offer. We operate in 11 main news production centres across England, Northern Ireland, Wales and the Channel Islands. We also have a Political Unit and a Weather centre based in Millbank, London. And finally, we produce a range of current affairs & factual programming out of ITV Wales, UTV and ITV Border.
The role
We have a great opportunity for an Assistant Production Accountant to support our news and production team at ITV Cymru Wales, reporting into the Finance Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Controlling cost data with the use of Oracle Projects and internal ITV systems.
- Maintaining production data to support forecasting.
- Posting corrections and reallocating costs.
- Liaising with Finance, Production, external suppliers & internal business partners in order to maintain high service levels for the department.
- Generating financial documents (Purchase Orders/Invoices etc) when required.
- Providing ad hoc financial & admin support.
- Liaise between production teams, finance teams and the Business Service Centre to ensure an accurate and efficient flow of transactional information.
- Day to day support to the Finance Manager
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- High standard of computer literacy
- Experience of data analysis using Excel
- Ability to ensure confidentiality of all records especially in relation to the Data Protection Act.
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- Strong coordination and administration skills.
- Cost/ budgeting experience
- Oracle systems literacy would be beneficial
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with differing levels of seniority across the finance and management community and externally.
- Ability to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a Production environment is desirable but not essential.
