We are currently seeking an individual to join this team in the role of Assistant Product Manager - Unsecured Lending.

Overview:

The Unsecured Lending team drives all product lifecycle activities and proposition development for personal loans and credit cards, including customer acquisition, customer journey enhancements, product pricing, retention strategies, existing customer management, marketing and portfolio management, and has full P&L responsibility for these products. The team support customers with their lending needs across HSBC, M&S Bank, First Direct and John Lewis Financial Services, working with wider Banking and Propositions colleagues, Marketing, Digital, Distribution, Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, IT, Operations, Global Teams and Card Schemes (Visa and MasterCard).

In this role, you will be:

  • Responsible for Personal Loans and Credit Cards acquisition delivery
  • Supporting with the development and delivery of the Unsecured Lending Strategy and Annual Operating Plans.
  • Tracking, analysing and reporting on acquisition activity - monitoring and reviewing product performance and wider market research to meet business requirements and make recommendations, taking appropriate action to amend where necessary.
  • Monitoring that the financial performance of each product meets business requirements and amend where necessary, to ensure financial viability and profitability of the Card / Personal Loans.
  • Using insights and a data driven approach to propose business recommendations to drive performance.
  • Working with a wide range of stakeholders including wider Banking and Propositions colleagues, Marketing, Digital, Distribution, Risk, Finance, CRM & Analytics, Compliance, Legal, IT and Transformation
  • Demonstrating leadership within working parties to identify risks to plan and ensure delivery of initiatives to address
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Highly experienced in the use of Excel and confident working with formulas and pivot tables.
  • Able to translate data and analysis into compelling insights and recommendations;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
  • Able to create, develop and deliver initiatives and projects that generate incremental revenue and profit to our business area;
  • A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of how to successfully implement change;
  • Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word;
  • Strong communication, stakeholder and relationship management skills: you will be managing multiple stakeholders with often conflicting motivations and perspectives.
  • Previous experience working in relevant environments such as retail banking or product management would be beneficial but is not essential.

The base location for this role will be either – 1 CS – Birmingham / Kings Meadow – Chester / first direct Leeds. Hybrid working options will also be considered.
