The Role NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit to a number of Assistant Practitioners within our 3 Acute Sites! We currently have vacancies throughout Critical Care, Emergency Care & Medicine for Older Adults. As part of this this role, you will undertake a bespoke further education programme in partnership with New College Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire College. As an Assistant Practitioner, you will: Act as a member of the care team under the supervision of registered NMAHP Practitioner. Assist patients to achieve their care and rehabilitation goals. Provide support and evidence based care by assisting the planning, implementing, delivery and evaluation of care Undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified area of care delivery. Use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, person centred safe and effective care Start dates are anticipated to be early / mid December. What we'll need you to bring Formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health / education / social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area or evidence of level 7 or 8 SCQF level of study as an equivalent Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning Ability to work individually or as part of a team Working knowledge of basic information technology Time management, planning and organisational skills Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills Knowledge of the clinical speciality/area process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area Contract type Permanent Full time 37.5 hours Location and Working Pattern These positions will be based in Critical Care, Emergency Care or Medicine for Older Adults within UH Wishaw, UH Hairmyres or UH Monklands. The working pattern for this role is fully rotational between day shift, back shift and night shift. Looking to find out more?
