Assistant Payroll Manager

Birmingham (Snowhil) – hybrid working 3 days in the office, 2 wherever.

What will the role involve as our Assistant Payroll Manager?

  • Manage a team of Payroll officers, delivering an accurate and Timely Payroll for 74,000 employees.
  • Ensure Monthly Quality checks are carried out to ensure accuracy.
  • Deal with escalations from the Team both verbally and electronically.
  • Apply high levels of customer service and work as part of a highly motivated team.
  • Calculate and complete complex input for statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Coach and Mentor the team motivating them to deliver world-class Colleague Experience.

What are we looking for in our Assistant Payroll Manager? You may have a variety of the below;

  • Current Oracle Payroll knowledge and Experience in a very Large UK Payroll.
  • Proven track record of managing a busy payroll office, and the ability to confidently handle complex payroll queries.
  • Current Payroll legislation knowledge including FPS submissions, P11D’s and PAE. Ability to produce and submit to HMRC.
  • Very high level of numeracy skills required with strong Excel skills – especially look-up and Pivot.
  • Great people skills with both the Team and our Colleagues.
