Position Overview Location: London, Devon House (St Katharine Docks) Salary £38,000 - £45,000 per annum for Assistant Professor; up to £60,000 per annum for Associate Professor. Bank holidays), group life assurance, group income protection, pension schemes and private healthcare (optional) Start: 1 September 2023 or ASAP; candidates will be interviewed on a rolling basis The Role Northeastern University London wishes to appoint an Assistant Professor (Teaching & Research) in Data Science. The appointee will be teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and conduct innovative research in the area. We wish to appoint a specialist in areas of Data Science including, but not limited to, financial technology, data-driven humanities and social sciences, cognitive science, information visualisation, and data mining. Preference may be given to candidates with active interests in the relationship of Data Science to one or more of the following areas: use of software and technology; employment contexts; diversity and inclusion. Core duties will include: development and provision of innovative and inclusive teaching in relevant areas of Computer Science at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (e.g. Programming with Data, Foundations of Data Science, Data Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, and Information Visualisation); world-leading disciplinary and interdisciplinary research; and professional service commensurate to career stage. Department Computing, Mathematics, Engineering, and Natural Sciences is undergoing a major growth at Northeastern University London. Person Specification Criteria Qualifications PhD completed, or near completion (all but dissertation), or equivalent professional experience, in a relevant area (essential) FHEA status, or equivalent, achieved or expected (desirable) A teaching qualification (FHEA or equivalent).
