We are looking for an Assistant Operations Manager who will champion our summer management programme at Little Patricks Street, to prepare our property ready to welcome our new residents home in September 2023. You will lead your team to deliver community events, support our wellbeing strategy onsite as well as delivering our sales management programme for 24/25. You will inspire your team members and manage ongoing relationships with university partners, ultimately helping to deliver and enhance the best possible living experience for our residents.

Youll be someone we can count on to:

  • A champion always leads by example. Demonstrate a personal desire for high levels of service in all your interactions.
  • Be commercial savvy, helping to drive sales and marketing to achieve great results.
  • Every student is different and so are the teams that work in our properties. Dont leave your personality at the door and please bring your whole self to work its this you we want to see every day.

DO

  • Always strive for the best, supporting the Operations Manager with the financial performance of the property
  • Build relationships with team members, third party contractors and universities to understand how our buildings provide more than a room.
  • Adopt an unapologetic safety first approach to operating safe and secure properties in line with all statutory, legal, and moral obligations.

    TEACH

  • Youll thrive on delivering a great customer experience and work closely with team members to always be welcoming and provide a safe backdrop to our residents time at university, giving them one less thing to worry about.

  • Develop and guide the team along your journey of ensuring we fill our properties all year round, with residents who want to stay year after year.

LEARN

  • Work with our centre of excellence to know and understand how to deal with queries from Finance, People, Health and Safety, Marketing and Procurement.

COLLABORATE

  • Work closely with the wider team: our people are great and you can be part of that! You will work particularly closely with various business units and operational teams to help assist with the running of the building, ensuring that we deliver the best customer experience.
  • Our value Be Bold, Be Heard instils an open culture where we want to hear new ideas and how we can implement solutions to improve.

Psst… there are some challenges too

Managing the Property in the Operations Managers absence- this might sound like fun to some, but its quite a bit of responsibility. Youll need to make sure that the team and the residents are supported during this time. Including the rare emergency call outs that happen from time to time.

Summer Turnaround- This is when our residents leave us and its the busiest time in our calendar. It is a BIG challenge, but not insurmountable; the key is organisation, great relationship management skills and ensuring you have a clear plan with contingencies. A strong team supporting you and being able to get stuck in is vital to turnaround success.

The us part

So you know what were looking for, but what are you looking for from your next employer? Sure, Student Roost has a portfolio of purpose-built student accommodation properties across the UK but more than that, Student Roost is its people.

While we strive to put our residents first, our people also include those at the heart of what we do: the property teams, Night Owls, support staff, HQ teams and more who help to keep ours a 24/7/365-day home away from home for everyone who chooses to live with us. We ask that you seek to make a difference every day you show up, and in return well show up for you by rewarding whats right, supporting you in your career growth and aspirations, and championing the unique qualities and ideas that only you can bring to the business.

Simply put: you do you, so we grow together.

Spoilers please!
