Job description

What you'll do:

Work closely with Senior News Editors, Senior Producers, linear production teams, digital and social editors, reporters, Live Editor and newsdesk planners to ensure our coverage is aligned and collaborative.
Assist the news editor to set SSN news agenda
Ensure the assignments desk and satellite operations desk are fully briefed on logistics.
Make key decisions about news stories, reacting to breaking news and managing deployment of resources.
Along with the news editor will be chasing news angles, identifying potential interviews, sourcing UGC and other social media content.
Liaise with colleagues at Sky Sports and Sky News.
Work closely with our broadcast partners around world to ensure relationships are maintained.
Attend and contribute at SSN editorial and planning meetings.

What you'll bring:

Outstanding editorial judgement and evidence of journalistic enterprise.
First class communication skills.
Demonstrable experience of news editing and editorial decision-making.
Strong planning and organisational skills.
A good knowledge of media law and compliance issues.
An excellent knowledge of sports from around the world.
