Find your audit niche and grow your career with Deloitte

What do we do?

Our team uses the latest audit tools, technologies and processes to deliver high quality audits for subsidiary companies. We are proud of our role performing work in the public interest and our team is dedicated to the highest standards of independence, professional objectivity and technical excellence.

We deliver the audits of numerous subsidiaries of some of our biggest and most high-profile clients in the UK and internationally. Our engagements span a wide range of industries; from consumer business to life sciences, from tech companies to financial services (and more). We work with groups and companies in both the public and private sectors and component auditors across our global network. We have a track record of successfully delivering high quality subsidiary audits and an efficient model that supports us in that and ensures best use of our people’s time, with their own development in mind.

How do we work?

We do so collaboratively, largely remotely and with agility at our core. We are a diverse and inclusive team, and our team members are based all around the UK, from Orkney to Cornwall. We have office hubs in Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, London, Newcastle and St. Albans and whilst the majority of our work is done remotely, we come together when it matters to ensure both quality and our sense of community. We support flexible working, such that our team members can build a working pattern that enables work, life balance alongside shaping a successful career. We recognise all members of our team as individuals and in so doing, build our strength as a team.

And what brings us all together at Deloitte as a Firm more widely? It’s how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave; our beliefs and our attitudes; in other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

Connect to your opportunity

As a qualified accountant with experience in audit, you will join a growing team of proud, highly motivated people, who are successfully helping to deliver outstanding quality audit engagements. Our trusted team works alongside and supports our client engagement teams who manage some of our large external group audits.

As a central resource, our remote team plays a hugely important role supporting the delivery of the audit of subsidiaries within these groups by providing an end-to-end audit solution. The breadth and complexity of work on offer presents ample opportunity to progress your career in whichever way you choose.

The role is technically challenging, highly rewarding and has great career prospects; no one day with our team is the same and that variety brings with it learning opportunities. You will learn in a supportive environment, and we will in turn help foster your career with us; you could be one of our leaders of the future.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside and supporting our onshore and overseas audit teams to enable them to successfully execute and deliver high quality audit work;
  • Supporting the development of client relationships and key internal stakeholder relationships on a day-to-day basis;
  • Helping our leadership team drive our continuous improvement in audit methodology and develop new ways of working through innovation and transformation;
  • Providing added value for group engagement teams and the wider Audit practice, supporting them in delivering our distinctive client experience; and
  • Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • A relevant CA/ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience as an external auditor with a sound understanding of risk management
  • Knowledge of external auditing techniques (including risk assessment, audit scoping, devising audit approach, controls testing, substantive testing) and, ideally, experience of using data analytics and other IT assisted audit techniques
  • Firm understanding of ethics, independence, and client data security
  • Highly motivated approach, with a proven ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients and team members
  • Capability to constructively challenge and demonstrate discretion
  • Demonstrates initiative, proactivity, professionalism, and confidence

We know it is not just about the numbers. Often, we let the technology take care of those. It is about the creative and collective thinking or our people. That’s where the true insight is found. We’re redefining the future of audit. Come join us.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm. The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process.
