We are Ninjas. As an Assistant Manager first class service is your priority. How you do this? Easy. Your natural ability & enthusiasm when it comes to recruiting, training, coaching & developing others means you’ll have the best in class team of Ninja’s right by your side. Your closest Ninja’s will be the Assistant General Manager & General Manager, who put their trust in your capability to ensure the business runs like clockwork.
Your daily mission
- To make it your business to know, understand & action business goals; by shift, period, quarter etc
- Forecast shift deployment of Ninja’s is in line with labour budgets
- Create robust & thoughtful rota’s in line with our values of balance & flexibility & circulate weekly
- Cascade communication to all Ninja’s through shift briefings, team meetings, 121s etc
- Own team briefings to drive the team to deliver exceptional service & ensure brand standards are met
- Schedule, plan & deliver monthly team training sessions with your fellow Ninja’s
- Make it your mission to ensure that the venue financial targets and KPIs have been communicated to relevant team members, and that appropriate plans are in place to ensure targets are achieved
- Proactive in identifying, celebrating & rewarding success across the team & company
- Spot, nuture & grow talent internally, contributing to succession planning for the team within your venue
- You’ll know the Ninja house rules off by heart & ensure these are implemented at all times
- A master when it comes to health & safety, completing all due diligence checks, including opening & closing check lists through following all company policy & procedures
- Be the point of contact for escalation when things don’t go to plan through rectifying complaints on shift
- Work closely with the Assistant General Manager, General Manager & wider team to ensure standards are raised every day & that we exceed our guests expectations
- Consistently review ways in which the operations could improve & share these with the General Manager
- Keep an eye on latest trends regarding guest satisfaction
- Own your own learning, with a passion for self-development
- Be an ambassador of our values, bringing to life our culture through our Ninja’s each & every day
Your Ninja allies
- Work closely with other Ninja team members through being true to our values & supporting one another with whatever challenges throughout the shift
- Work closely with your fellow Elite Ninja’s (Assistant General Manager & General Managers) to ensure our missions are achieved.
Assistant Elite Ninja qualities
- You’re commercially curious and bring ideas to the table & eager to develop your overall awareness and understanding further
- You are described as fun and approachable by all Ninjas; you are their inspirational cheer Ninja
- You make it your business to know, understand and action business goals
- Make an effort to get to know your Ninja’s and work together. Be flexible and help others where needed
- Have an eye for details and take action when things aren’t right
- Manage your time effectively throughout your shift, ensuring all opening/closing duties are carried out
Ninjutsu (experience/skills/qualifications to non-Ninjas)
· A strong track record of success within a Supervisor/Assistant Manager role
· Previous experience of working within the leisure/hospitality sector
· Strong commercial & analytical knowledge & experience of budgetary controls & P&L management
· Understanding of sales revenue initiatives & the role you play in this
· Previous experience of owning local marketing initiatives
· Used to managing large teams within a fast paced, multi-faceted environment
· A natural flair for coaching, developing & mentoring your team
· A dab hand at all things tech, whether that’s systems, apps, Microsoft packages etc
· Epic communication skills with both guests, teams & senior management
· Confident in putting forward their opinions & ideas & comfortable in challenging back in the right way
· Excellent Food/Health & Safety knowledge
· Thrives in working within a fast paced environment, whilst managing their priorities in line with the business needs
· A hunger for self development & to achieve results
· Proactive rather than reactive outlook on addressing things that don’t look right
