Assistant Management Accountant

Network Plus is now one of the UK’s leading utility and infrastructure providers, with offices and depots stretching from Carlisle to the South coast. We deliver services to clients and the public 24/7/365.
Core services include repair, maintenance, construction and installation of utility and infrastructure assets. We provide traffic management through our sister businesses; Go Traffic Management and Capital Traffic Management. Vegetation management and tree cutting activities are provided through EOS Contracting.

Our Role
As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will be supporting the Management Accountant and the Finance Business Partner in producing monthly management accounts including profit and loss account, balance sheet, cash flows, variance analysis, key performance indicators and supporting commentaries in line with agreed SLA and reporting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for someone to:
- Assist in producing financial statements including P&L accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, liaising closely with the commercial contract teams
- Assist in providing accurate and meaningful analysis and supporting data to assist with key decision making at contract level
- Assist in the validating and uploading all monthly actual results, budgets and forecasts to the Group consolidation and reporting model in line with required deadlines
- Contribute and support projects as required
- Be a point of contact for contract commercial and operations
- Provide constructive challenge and input to ensure that opportunities and risks are identified, reported and addressed
Experience and Qualifications
- Relevant degree/studying towards AAT/first year chartered (ACCA/CIMA)/strong relevant experience in a similar role
- Good communication skills and ability to take direction as part of a team
- Not afraid to ask questions
- Good computer skills with strong excel capability
- Flexible and able to support pinch points in workload, particularly at month-end
