The Crave Interactive Group have an immediate vacancy for an Assistant Management Accountant, based in our offices at Cranfield University Technology Park. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to progress their career in accounting and finance as well as advance their reporting and analytical skills.

The Assistant Management Accountant will be responsible for maintaining and improving financial controls and processes as well as helping drive commercial performance within what is a small, but complex multi-company, multi-currency international group. The role will report to the Finance Manager and will provide both financial control and commercial intelligence to ensure that the Group's objectives are met through effective partnering, analysis and reporting.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role will be:

Working within the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing for all group entities including:

· Overseeing the sales ledgers, including ensuring all invoices are raised accurately and in a timely manner.

· Coordinating the debt recovery process and ensuring that invoices are being settled on time, escalating to the Finance Manager and CFO if required.

· Overseeing the maintenance of accurate purchase ledgers with the Finance Apprentice and paying suppliers on time.

· Assisting with cash management and cash-flow forecasting.

· Assisting the Finance Manager in timely and accurate completion of group management accounts to tight deadlines.

· Month-end journal preparation and posting.

· Performing month-end balance sheet reconciliations.

· Responsibility for overhead variance analysis during month-end.

· Assisting with the preparation of revenue recognition schedules and journals at month-end.

· Supporting the Finance Manager with year-end processes, audit preparation and responses to queries from auditors.

· Active involvement with on-going data analytics project, including use and understanding of the QuickSight BI tool to create insightful dashboards for customers and internal management.

· Assisting with the professional development of more junior member of the Finance team.

· Supporting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc requests and projects.

Essential skills and experience:

This position will require a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast-paced environment.

· Experience in management accounting, reporting and analysis.

· Good command of Microsoft Excel.

· Ability to plan, communicate and take ownership for a subsection of the Group’s month-end process, ensuring deadlines are met.

· Ability to work in ambiguous situations; be forward-looking, resilient, flexible, and adaptable.

· Excellent communication skills in English; written, oral and listening.

· Good presentation skills; ability to speak effectively in large or small meetings, often virtually.

· Must be a proactive self-starter, with a willingness to learn/work on a variety of activities as required.

· Ability to work well within a team in a positive and professional manner.

Desirable skills and experience:

· Full UK driving licence.

· Previous experience in the use of a BI tool.
