The team is constantly evolving, driving record traffic across all platforms, growing new audiences, and building engagement and loyalty with our readers.
The role:
The Sun is looking for a talented, dynamic individual, with significant newsroom and audience development experience.
As Assistant Head of Audience you will be responsible for the development and implementation of some of the Sun Audience department’s biggest projects, with a focus particularly on longer-term strategy and innovation. Experience working with tech, product, data and experimentation teams is essential.
You will support the development of The Sun’s digital growth strategy through innovative approaches around loyalty, engagement, identity and monetisation.
Reporting to the Director of Audience, you will work closely with editorial and digital teams as well as tech, product, commercial and insights departments across the business to drive growth and meet strategic targets.
Key accountabilities:
Develop and implement long-term strategic audience projects to support and diversify The Sun’s digital growth
Lead the integration of new functionality and approaches into existing newsroom and audience workflows
Monitor developments across the industry, maintaining relationships with third-party providers, and make recommendations to relevant teams, ensuring The Sun is at the forefront of audience innovation
Perform regular competitor analysis and identify opportunities to improve and overtake across all formats
Key skills and experience:
Self-starter, organised and a good problem-solver, able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Can demonstrate an understanding of The Sun and Fabulous brands
Newsroom experience essential
