We’re the Green House Growers! We’ve been growing fresh food since 1977, beginning as a small family business with just over 1ha of tomatoes. Now we have 48ha across our nurseries in Sussex, Norfolk, and Cambridgeshire. Over the years we’ve become known for the best quality and for pioneering sustainability.

We are looking for an Assistant Grower to join our growing team, based at our Ely site but with occassional travel to Norwich. Please note- weekend work will be required.
Reporting to the Grower Manager, you will be responsible for implementing workflow procedures based on direction from the Grower Manager, ensuring the best possible product quality and the maximum yield is achieved.
Responsibilities:
- Scouting (IPM) standard - gathering information on crop problems and treatment efficacy.
- Placing natural enemies and maintaining bee population in tomatoes.
- Filling fertiliser tanks as directed
- Maintain fertiliser stock and accurately maintain usage records
- Check water usage – incoming EC/PH and outgoing EC/PH
- Chemical spraying as directed by the grower manager
- Providing a detailed report of all findings/actions to the grower manager weekly
- Compliance to the safety and hygiene protocol

- have tomato/cucumber/greenhouse experience (desirable)
- have lnowledge of the crop, disease and pests
- have initiative

- have excellent written & verbal communication skills
- have Leadership skills; leads by example, motivates others, makes decisions, initiates action, takes responsibility
- CPD – are actively taking courses related to job
- are proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
