Job Overview
As the Assistant Groundskeeper you will take joint responsibility with the management team to ensure the grounds are maintained to a high standard and to ensure that the property is a safe environment for the guests and staff, conforming to the requirements as laid out under the Health and Safety legislation. You will need to be flexible to work shifts on bank holidays, evenings, weekends and any other holidays as requested
We are recruiting for an active Groundskeeper to support our Estates Manager in keeping our grounds functionally and aesthetically pleasant and well kept. You will maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, stair paths, retaining walls and turf. The Groundskeeper will employ insecticides, chemical sprays, fertilisers, and mulches to optimise condition of greenery. You will keep grounds free from trash, litter, debris, weeds, plant diseases and harmful insects. You will maintain equipment and supplies, and order as needed.
To be successful in this role you need to ensure grounds are pleasant and you must maintain equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Previous experience groundskeeping or related experience.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Proficient in using manual and power tools safely.
- Free from allergies that interfere with Groundskeeper duties.
- Cleaning the company’s grounds by removing rubbish and litter daily
- Taking care of all groundskeeping supplies, tools and inventory
- Ensuring the grounds are clean, safe and usable by guest and visitors
- Removing dirt on sidewalks pavements and driveways
- Taking on special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary
- Clearing rubbish, weeds, brush and debris on a company’s grounds
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Available to work overtime.
- Hard-working, meticulous, and patient.
- Physically agile and dextrous.
- Keeping the immediate exterior of the venue presentable
- General cleaning duties
- Close down duties end of day
- Room set ups
