Wigan Golf Club was founded in 1898. We are a traditional 18-hole parkland course. WGC is a private members club with a happy and friendly atmosphere, a beautiful 18thcentury clubhouse, pro shop, teaching academy and we even have a genuine 800 year old moat!

WGC are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Greenkeeper to work with our team, under the guidance of our Head Greenkeeper, on the general maintenance and presentation of the course. This is a full-time position working an average of 40 hours per week plus a pro rata weekend. Hours are also seasonal with more hours expected in summer and less in winter.

The successful candidate will require:

Motivation and enthusiasm to continue to learn and provide workmanship of a high standard.

The ability and experience to operate and maintain green keeping equipment.

Have excellent communication skills.

To always follow health and safety protocols to ensure safety is paramount around the course and club.

The ability to work as part of a team and to work individually when necessary.

Preferable:

PA1, PA2 & PA6 spraying and chain saw certificates.

The ability to bring new ideas and practices as well as being confident and established in more traditional methods.

Our offer:

£21,000 to £23,000 per annum commensurate to level of qualifications and experience.

22 days holiday plus any national bank holidays.
