Job description
Assistant General Manager for The Kings Arms in Bethnal Green.
£32,000 per annum plus £5k bonus based on GP and operating profit targets. Based on a 40 hour week.
The Kings Arms has been showcasing the best of craft beer for the last ten years, becoming well known for exciting beer events, whilst at the same time remaining very much a local boozer- a welcoming haven for all comers. There are 14 keg lines and 6 casks lines, and over 100 bottles and cans and big sharing bottles. We focus the drinks offer on balance and quality ad consistency rather than the latest hit and miss hype. On the food side we keep things simple and delicious, with amazing cheese & cured meats from our friends at Provisions, and scotch eggs too.
The structure of our company is light on the Operations team, and heavy invested in site management, which allows for lots of creative input into the business. The Assistant General Manager supports the GM in managing all aspects of the bar. We focus on making sure that the AGM is very involved in all things, preparing them properly for progression and also to ensure that projects and tasks continue when the GM is not on site. We would like to avoid the tendency for deputy managers to become glorified duty managers and see them instead as a key part of the senior management team. This is a role ideally suited for someone who already has some good management experience, who can hit the ground running and bring a lot of creative input to the table.
It’s a small pub, which packs a big punch, and this presents an engaging challenge with potential for lots of fun projects to get stuck into.
