The independently owned Old Bank Hotel, centrally located on Oxford’s famous High, is a 5-star hotel with 43 luxury bedrooms, including our luxury rooftop bedroom and terrace with unrivalled views of Oxford’s famous skyline. The Old Bank is part of ‘The Oxford Collection’; a small, privately owned group of hotels and restaurants comprising of Gees Restaurant & Bar, the Old Parsonage Hotel, Parsonage Grill, the Old Bank Hotel and Quod Restaurant & Bar.

We are looking for an Assistant Front Office Manager to join our Front Office team at the Old Bank Hotel.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a passion for hospitality, high level attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude with a keen willingness to learn.
- Be able to lead, inspire and motivate people.
- Be excellent at interpersonal communication, coaching and teamwork.
- Have high level written English, strong IT literacy.
- Have strong organisational skills.
- Have previous managerial experience within a luxury hotel.
Assistant Front Office Manager responsibilities:
- To represent and maintain the hotel’s high standards of personal presentation and behaviour, overseeing the procedures of the reception department, whilst on duty as a working member of the team.
- To inspire a positive attitude to teamwork, contributing to the smooth running of reception and encouraging productive interaction with all other departments.
- To liaise with the Front Office Manager & Head Housekeeper, ensuring the flow of communication necessary to the hotel’s efficient operation, at five-star standards.
- To maintain the image and culture of the team, developing the skills of reception staff, in conjunction with the Front Office Manager.
- To maximise the hotel’s occupancy through efficient handling of enquiries, together with good teamwork and communication.
- To practise effective rate management through familiarisation with the hotel’s business trends, relevant to seasonal and local market forces.
- To support the Front Office Manager in maintaining and updating Reception procedures; ensuring daily checklists are completed, for training and procedural purposes.
We offer a sensible shift pattern, across a 40-hours working week (Monday to Sunday rota with two days off) with a salary up to £28,000 per annum depending on experience plus non-contractual service charge (tronc).
