If so, we have an exciting opportunity to work as an Assistant Support Worker, in Sittingbourne Kent in which you will be there to provide support to the young people.
Next Generation Housing Services provides services to the young people who are care-leavers and are moving into semi-independent living accommodation. These young people may have experienced trauma that can lead them to display challenging behaviours to communicate with those around them. They require care from a reliable, committed, passionate and skilled staff team. This will support them to develop trusting relationships which provide the time and space to explore their past experiences, behaviours, and current situation.
Staff are enabled to provide a high level of care and support to young people through regular and ongoing training opportunities. Staff are ambitious for the young people we care for and are passionate and committed to ensure they experience good quality care that is individual to them and positively prepares them for adulthood.
The job role will include the following but not limited to:
1. Working alongside colleagues to assess client needs and risks and achieve support plan goals.
2. Establishing supportive and professional relationships with clients and dealing effectively with unpredictable and challenging situations in a professional and sensitive manner.
3. Supporting colleagues in planning and delivering a range of client’s activities and workshops.
4. Ensuring client are supported to raise complaints, comments, and suggestions.
5. Keeping accurate records, including logbooks, service user files, monitoring information etc.
6. Providing written reports and information as requested.
7. Maintaining clear and concise records of all key working sessions.
8. Being aware of, and adhering to, all relevant financial procedures.
9. Ensuring NGHS Equality and Diversity Policy and Code of Conduct are actively promoted and adhered to in all areas of work, and that services are accessible to all individuals.
10. Attending and fully participating in supervision and appraisals, team meetings and all training provided as and when required.
11. Engaging with colleagues and management to fully support the effectiveness of the team.
12. Working across other locations, and attending training and meetings on other sites, as required
13. Responding in a decisive and proactive manner to clients and neighbour complaints.
14. Reporting repairs and maintenance in accordance with policy and procedure.

Part-time hours: 16 per week
Salary: £10.00-£11.00 per hour
