Lancashire Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for high calibre accountant to join their Finance Directorate.
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Financial Advisor. You will be a self-motivated Financial Advisor who will support the Finance Team and assist the Division with its financial position.
We are looking for an individual with the drive to succeed, who can work as part of a team, on with their AAT qualification which we will support, and assist both clinical and operational leaders and managers.
The role is responsible for providing financial support and assistance to the Senior Assistant Financial Advisor & Financial Advisor in providing the delivery of a financial advisory service to the Division and its Clinical Business Units / Specialty Business Unit
The post will be based at the newly refurbished Finance Department at Preston Business Centre, which is located close to the M6/M55 and Trust's Royal Preston Hospital site.
There is an expectation that this role will be hybrid, working from home 80% of the time with the other 20% office based as per the Finance remote working policy. This is likely to change from June 2023, to 60% home working, and 40% being office based.

- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers and others within Finance and Trust wide service users.
- Be the point of contact for all day to day enquires, referring where necessary to more senior staff in a competent and professional manner.
- Ensure that all budgetary information is entered into the general ledger system.
- Produce detailed set reports and ad hoc reports on a monthly basis and ensuring these are issued in a timely manner.
- Collect and collate data/information.
- Ensure that the data/information meets pre-set quality criteria and report any quality issues
- Store data / information
- Assist the Senior Assistant Financial Advisor & Financial Advisor with analysing information at month end.
- Help budget holders understand their budgets by analysing expenditure
- Ensure that monthly reports of the budgetary position are issued to budget holders
- To be responsible for own continual professional development
