JOB TITLE: Assistant Finance Manager
SALARY: £41,292 - £45,880
LOCATION(S): Bristol Harbourside
HOURS: Full time (9 month Secondment/FTC)
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site
About this opportunity:
You'll join us in Group Finance Support (GFS), a team of c300 colleagues within the Finance Division, providing centralised support and expertise to the rest of Finance and the Business.
This role sits within the Insurance Financial Control team in Group Finance Support, who are responsible for the financial control activity, primarily reconciliation and Basis of Substantiation of Finance data, within Lloyds Banking Group.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking candidate to provide efficiencies and improve upon a number of source system and other reconciliation and financial control processes.
What you'll be doing:
- Improving the current reconciliation landscape within the IFC team driving efficiencies and better ways of working through simplification;
- The candidate requires strong excel and PI skills to drive efficiencies quickly in the team
- Taking ownership of control issues or balance sheet breaks, ensuring that these are owned and remediating action plans are in place;
- Collaborating closely with a large number of internal teams including stakeholders other GFS and IP&I Finance teams. In addition there will be extensive liaison with Divisional Business and Operations teams, Finance Platform colleagues and external auditors;
- Taking the responsibility for the running debrief meetings, driving continuous improvement initiatives which will create efficiencies within the IFC team but also downstream Reporting teams.
- Working with Finance Platform, and other Change teams to ensure that Financial Control matters are considered in Transformation, including managing the ongoing change impact on source system reconciliations;
- Developing personal capabilities using existing formal and informal training opportunities;

What you’ll need:
- Accountancy qualification/part qualified accountant or qualified by experience
- Strong excel skills and a curious mindset that will drive process improvements;
- Passion for Financial control;
- LBG Systems knowledge;
- Strong stakeholder management;
- Team player
