Permanent (inc. 36-month Level 7 Apprenticeship Scheme)

At B&Q we have a hybrid approach to working to increase flexibility in when and where we work. This is a full-time opportunity, Monday - Friday . For this role we are looking for someone to be able to work from our head office 3 days a week
Key responsibilities
We are looking for keen graduates to join B&Q, the UK’s leading home improvement retailer. As part of the Kingfisher group, you will be working within the top Home Improvement retailer in the UK. You’ll be joining a fast paced, exciting finance team with the opportunity of future career development. You will learn the business from the bottom up, with an induction to include working in our stores, as well as meeting several key finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Our Finance apprenticeship scheme is a 36-month programme to support gaining a professional Finance qualification (ACCA or CIMA) plus an industry recognised Level 7 apprenticeship qualification (equivalent to a Master’s Degree), at the same time as gaining relevant job experience alongside essential soft skills and behaviours training. There will be plenty of support along the way in the shape of your development from your peer group, line manager and mentor.
We will provide you with varied roles across our finance team to support your professional qualification effectively – including Operational, FP&A, Retail, Commercial and Cost efficiency. The skills you will develop include budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, performance analysis, project appraisal and strong excel skills, enabling you to handle large data sets and perform efficient financial modelling. You will also develop strong communication and presentation skills, essential for building effective relationships across the business and successfully influencing stakeholders.
We’d really like you to help us drive improvements in the way we work, simplifying core processes & enhancing areas of development. We’ll also be looking for your support in preparing presentations for senior management (internal & group boards) and you will have the opportunity to complete ad hoc performance analysis
Required skills & experience
To be succesful in this role we are seeking candidates who are ideally a Graduate; keen to secure a career in Accountancy & Finance or having started a career within Finance and looking to continue studies to secure full accountancy qualification
