Job description
Our remarkable Planning teams deliver the products our customers love, to where they want them to be, be that online or instore. We’re transforming our Supply Chain processes to enable data-driven decision-making, and we need you to help drive tangible business outcomes!
We now have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Development Manager Inbound to join our Inbound Planning Team. This role will support the transformation of our capability and processes to manage the inbound flow of stock from our suppliers to our UK Distribution Centres (DC). Supporting the implementation of specific elements of the plan to build the future capability as part of the end-to-end programme.
An outline of what you'll be involved in:-
- Work on specific projects to help define future state capability for how Clothing & Home will manage inbound flow of stock from supplier to our UK DC
- Establish capability to align intake planning and execution through a top-down / bottom-up reconciliation:
- Supporting the definition of the capability to review “top-down department level intake plans” vs “allowable intake
- Once defined, use the capability to deliver the commercial stock 'targets”, vs “live intake” and vs “network capacity”. To determine opportunities to increase/decrease upstream stock flows on rolling 6 month horizon
- Support development of processes to control the actual flow of stock to hit the commercial stock targets and fit within the UK DC capacity
- Use line level “permission to ship” exception reporting and insights to reconcile the bottom-up line level mix of stock with top-down allowable intake volumes. To allow the Development Manager to make trade-offs that drive better line level mix within the overall department level stock targets
- Support scenario modelling of sales up-side/down-side. Reviewing the impact on planned DC stock covers and strategies to deliver the stock flow to enable that sales plan
We are looking for someone who has experience of managing stock flows in a multi-channel retail environment or manufacturing or similar. Who understands the fundamentals of supply chain planning (i.e. forecasting/planning/logistics/operations, sourcing) and is able to utilise planning systems. In addition, they will need:
- Good analytical skills
- Strong commercial awareness
- The ability to build strong cross functional relationships and challenge, influence and persuade others to move towards a common vision or goal in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same
Join us on this exciting journey and in exchange for your experience, we will reward you with a competitive salary, opportunities to broaden and develop your career and market leading benefits package.
