An outstanding and exciting opportunity to join a dynamic growing Womenswear team for a 12-month maternity cover. We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic, creative individual who can work collaboratively within our close Design team. The candidate must be self-motivated, organised and a phenomenal teammate. They should demonstrate a great eye for style and trend, with the ability to both challenge and push our ranges forward. Excellent Illustrator & Photoshop skills are necessary, plus a keen digital attitude.

Key accountabilities & measures:
  • Support the Senior Designer to deliver Design briefs and in producing high standard of CADs, Tech packs via PLM (PLM training available if required) at the right time to meet Critical Paths, and support all Designers and T departments as needed
  • Support effective working relationships with our Sourcing Office teams and Suppliers
  • Research global retail and trends under the direction of the Senior Designer and identify and communicate key opportunities
  • Assist in creating design boards, design publications and design DPS presentations
  • Begin to take the initiative to own a product type under the Senior Designers direction
  • Manage the diary to meet critical path dates
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Core/Target customer
  • Carry out inspirational and comparative shopping with support, and regularly review competitor ranges and identify potential opportunities to the Senior Designer
  • Demonstrate understanding of product legislation and an awareness of how to keep the design of a product legal
Key skills:

You will have Strong design and CAD skills with an eye for detail

  • Knowledge of Trend interpretation, current competitive marketplace, and product design, regularly supervise competitor activity and report relevant information
  • Experience in direct design sourced product, working with Design/Technology and Buying to build high standards of CAD and Tech packs via PLM
  • High level of technical proficiency and attitude in Design related software to include Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design and Adobe. Knowledge and experience of Apex 3 would be a bonus
  • Multitask orientated with the ability to work to timelines to the critical path
