Assistant Catering Manager
Hay Castle cafe is situated at the iconic Hay Castle, opening only in May 2022 after many years of renovation and a whopping £7 million spent on getting it ready for the public, Hay Castle is a destination full of history, character and great food & drinks.
The Hay Castle Cafe, serves brunch, lunch and delicious cakes alongside hot and cold drinks and is open 7 days a week from 10am – 5pm and we are looking for bright, energetic and bubbly front of house assistant manager to motivate the team that serve our guests. Hospitality is fast paced and we are looking for staff who are at the top of their game.
Our goal is simple – Delicious, local, seasonal produce paired with first class customer service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to oversee front of house operations on the day to day. Our ideal candidate will have experience in a management or supervisory position in hospitality although training will be provided by the outgoing employee.
What we are looking for someone who has:
Experience in the fast paced industry of hospitality
Ability to run the floor and lead the team
Experience in supervising staff
A great work ethic, rolling up their sleeves when needed
Like minded to our ethos, we are creative and want to inspire the next generation of the hospitality industry!
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Good knowledge of the different roles within a cafe setting and willing to get involved within all parts of service
Ability to motivate our team of baristas and servers
Job description:
To oversee front of house operations on the day to day, leading the front of house team.
Maintaining stock levels and notifying management when stock is at minimum levels and needs to be ordered.
Supervising front of house staff to ensure a consistently high standard of customer service; assigning tasks, directing food service, and allotting breaks.
Opening and closing the café including cashing up and distributing tips.
Scheduling bookings and reservations
Liaising with kitchen staff about stock and bookings to ensure a smooth service every day.
Maintaining the high standards of customer service alongside aspects of hygiene and health and safety.
Assist in staff training
