Full Time

Grade 3

Our passion at Currys is helping everyone enjoy the latest tech. We’re proud of the service levels we provide for our customers – online, in-store or in their homes. And it’s all down to our people, 30,000+ capable and committed colleagues, learning together, growing together, making us amazing and celebrating the wins.

As an Assistant Category Merchandiser, you’ll be working with one of our most exciting categories. Our Merchandising teams help our categories hit targets by building relationships with suppliers and monitoring performance. You’ll be at the heart of our success, helping our Category Merchandiser to deliver category performance. It’s an environment that’s packed full of opportunities, which means you can build the future you want.

To support your development, you’ll have an opportunity to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship in Buying & Merchandising! You'll be able to start your apprenticeship within 3 months of joining the team (subject to eligibility).

As part of this role, you’ll:

  • Build close relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and our supply chain to ensure continuity of supply
  • Step up and take responsibility for achieving all key performance indicators (sales, stock, margin and markdown)
  • Review sales forecasts based on historical data, seasonal trends and market trends
  • Monitor weekly performance and make recommendations to ensure that we implement in-season plans and deliver target availability across the store estate

You’ll need:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar role
  • A relevant degree (or equivalent), e.g., Marketing, Merchandising, Retail or Business
  • Knowledge of merchandise planning systems such as SAP, Compass Planning or similar
  • Experience of business objects
  • Strong numerical, analytical skills, and communication skills

We’re one team and we celebrate all of the great things you do. One way we show our gratitude is by giving you access to a range of lifestyle benefits including:

  • Competitive pension scheme
  • Access to discretionary company bonus scheme
  • Life Assurance
  • Staff discounts and offers
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Hybrid working; arrangements will depend on your role and business requirements. You could be working from our primary Currys Campus at Waterloo (WeWork), meeting & collaborating at Currys regional workspaces or working from home

Beyond that, we’ll be with you every step of the way, enabling you to get the most out of your role, grow your skills your way, and see your career develop in the way you want. Be part of our talented merchandising team and unbox your passion at the UK’s best-known retailer in tech.
