Overview
2Fawcett are recruiting for an Assistant Buyer, to join a company located in Sheffield, on a Permanent basis.
The primary role of the Purchasing Coordinator is to raise and issue purchase orders in line with purchase requisitions, stock demand shortages and ad-hoc requirements. The role also involves weekly ordering of engine parts via our customers dealer portals to support production. Working as part of the Material Control team to support general procurement and provide an efficient and effective service to the wider business.
The Role & Responsibilities of the Assistant Buyer
· Day to day management of purchase requisitions and the raising and issuing to suppliers of purchase orders from system purchase requisitions, stock demand shortages and ad-hoc requirements.
· Regular communication with internal stakeholders to ensure orders are placed in full and on time.
· Monitor open purchase orders and routinely expedite orders in line with due dates
· Monitoring stock usage patterns as and when required and adjust system stock parameters
· Order engine parts from customer service parts portals and monitor back orders.
· Create shortage reports to aid production planning
· Resolve invoice queries and ad-hoc shipping disputes
· Initial review and process of ad-hoc pro-forma payments
· Investigate potential cost savings and where the business can achieve increased value for money
· Work as part of the material control team to support wider business needs
Requirements of the Assistant Buyer
· Experience of raising purchase orders or working as part of a purchasing team
· Meticulous with an excellent attention to detail
· Ability to analyse and process data
· Excellent communication skills both oral and written in communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders
· Ability to follow processes but also the skills to handle ambiguity and uncertainty
· Excellent team working skills but also comfortable to managing their own specific workload
· An organised and methodical approach
· Tenacious in dealing with suppliers
· Experience of using ERP/MRP systems
