Job description
The Department of Psychology is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Archivist to improve discoverability of the Departmental archives. The archives cover the work of the Department and its eminent psychologists, with material dating from the late nineteenth century to the present day.
Working alongside the Psychology Librarian in the Department of Psychology, the Assistant Archivist will provide access to the archives, and improve the physical storage and arrangement of the items. They will catalogue and index the collections to internationally accepted standards and make them available to researchers through the University Library Archive Management System.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified archivist with experience of working with manuscripts and archival collections in an academic/research library. They will have proficient knowledge of archival cataloguing standards and experience of supporting stakeholders including professional colleagues, collection donors, and researchers.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 years in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
