Assistant Accountant
We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team at Samaritans. As Assistant Accountant, you’ll oversee the day-to-day accounting for Samaritans’ branches and regions, support local Treasurers with banking, budgeting, financial reporting and queries.
You’ll be part or fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent) or an Accounting technician (AAT), with proven finance experience. You’ll be a strong communicator and have advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- In-office working – once per week in the office is preferred (the team often work together on a Tuesday)

The Role
We have 201 branches across the UK and Ireland. This role ensures the complete and accurate reporting of branch finances, in turn ensuring that Samaritans maintains statutory compliance. The role is crucial in providing support to Branch Directors and Treasurers, ensuring that they are able to, and understand how to, complete their financial responsibilities and ultimately, ensuring branches can continue to operate effectively.
