Kids Planet Day Nurseries provides the highest standard of nursery care and education with over 150 settings within a unique environment in which children are actively encouraged to explore, learn, and interact with others.
With the ongoing successful growth of Kids Planet Day Nurseries, we are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team. This is an office based role working within our finance team .
The Assistant Accountant will work closely with the Operations Financial Controller and wider accounts team. The role is to ensure that accounts and management information is produced in an accurate and timely manner.
Principal Duties/Tasks & responsibilities
· Assist the Operations Financial Controller with the consolidation and preparation of the Monthly Group Board Report, incorporating P&L, balance sheet and cash flow positions, and other key Group KPIs
· Assist the Operations Financial Controller with set Group financial projects, to assist reporting efficiency as the group grows
· Analysis of profitability of different business units and variance investigation
· Account reconciliations
· Assist the Operations Financial Controller with the onboarding of acquisitions into the group accounts
· External reporting to local authorities
· Posting journals including accruals and prepayment analysis
· Assist on annual audits or ad hoc reporting
· Any other reasonable requests
Essential skills:
· Good level of competence in Excel, Word and Outlook
· Confident communication skills
· Great attention to detail
· Ability to work to tight deadlines
· Ability to prioritise workload effectively
· Self-motivated, calm and professional, and able to work efficiently in a busy environment
· Either qualified or actively seeking an AAT or accounting qualification
· Experience of using accounting software
Desirable skills:
· At least 2 years’ experience of producing financial information as part of a month-end close process
· Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics
