At Charles Hurst, we have an incredible opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our Head office. We are looking for somebody with a keen eye for detail and a financial background.
Headed up by our fantastic manager John, you will be reporting into and supporting the Head office accountant, therefore the best training will be given. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a career with the accounting team.
As an Assistant Accountant for Charles Hurst, you’ll be providing financial support to all areas of the business including operational, financial, and divisional management as and when required.
- Support dealership accountants and centralised finance teams with the production of accurate monthly management accounts in accordance with group policies and procedures which are to be submitted in accordance with group reporting deadlines.
- Manufacturer composite submission in conjunction with dealership accountants for all brands.
- Key monthly balance sheet reconciliations both central and dealership to support in the production of management accounts. To include but not limited to accruals and prepayments, service plans, key supplier reconciliations, vehicle buy in and settlement accounts.
- Cost base analysis and understanding to support financial and operational management teams.
- Corporation tax analysis on a monthly basis.
- Support divisional head office with the accurate running of the centralised finance team. The role will require work within all of the key central departments including credit control, purchase ledger and banking teams.
- Ensure that assistance is given to external auditors as required in producing information to generate statutory accounts.
- Ensure that assistance is given to internal auditors, head office finance, Business Information, insurance, compliance and payroll teams for the purposes of providing information for management and statutory information.
You will have relevant accounting experience gained from a similar fast paced environment, with a genuine interest in management and financial accounting. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills: written and verbal; and work with accuracy and detail.
You'll be well organised, adaptable, and quick to respond. You'll be a pro at working to tight deadlines and budgets. You'll be able to work both independently and as part of a larger, dynamic team.
