JOB DESCRIPTION

If you are passionate about asset management media relations and want to support the development and execution of JPMAM’s EMEA media relations strategy across a diverse client base, you may be the perfect fit for our team.

With assets under management of USD 2.67 trillion (as of 31 March 2023), JPMAM is a global leader in investment management. Clients include institutions, professional investors, and retail investors in every major market throughout the world. We offer global investment management across a range of investment vehicles and asset classes including equities, fixed income, multi-asset, alternatives and global liquidity.

Based in London, the candidate will report to the Head of EMEA Media Relations and work closely with the team’s junior associate.

Job responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement PR strategies that advance our business themes
• Create content for contributed pieces, draft press releases and coordinate media events
• Achieve high visibility in key trade publications and top tier mainstream media for our investment themes, products and thought pieces – plus work with our social media team to extend coverage to LinkedIn
• Maintain organized scheduling for a variety of spokespeople, including broadcast activity
• Manage and develop productive relationships with asset management, markets and investment beat reporters
• Monitor, analyse and merchandise coverage internally
• Represent Asset Management PR at internal business meetings

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Experience in all aspects of PR: from creating and presenting a strategy, to writing pitches, pitching, securing opportunities, managing interviews or events, monitoring and presenting results on a regular basis
• Exceptional project management and organisational skills required, including the ability to strategically prioritize multiple assignments
• Ability to proactively pursue and achieve a high level of press activity. Must be comfortable with measurement of press placements on an ongoing basis
• Strong writing and editing abilities, strong eye for detail and strong communication skills
• Ability to create and sustain productive relationships with the media, coupled with an uncompromising commitment to ethics and treating journalists with respect
• Enthusiastic, keen to learn, self-motivated and mature individual, with an excellent work ethic
• Happy to roll up sleeves as part of a small but industrious in-house team which serves a diverse client base – must be a team player

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Two to three years of media relations experience – ideally in a PR agency setting (Account Executive or Senior Account Executive level) – with a focus on asset management
