Job Description

AECOM are recruiting a Senior Asset Management Consultant to join our well established and growing strategic asset management advisory team. As someone experienced in physical infrastructure project delivery and/or asset management decision-making, you will advise asset-owning organisations about a wide range of organisational asset management needs.

ISO 55000 Asset Management provides a framework for demonstration of adherence to the principles of asset management: value, alignment, leadership and assurance. To realise the benefits of asset management, organisations are devising structured approaches – not only to streamline internal processes and procedures but also to justify activities to external regulators.

Our Strategic Asset Management (SAM) Consulting team is ideally placed to capitalise on the opportunities that exist in the changing world of asset management. Emerging demand is especially strong in relation to critical infrastructure given government targets to decarbonise. To the team you will bring a blend of skills: technical, analytical, communication, collaboration, creativity, curiosity and a desire to solve big and small problems. You must enjoy working with others, be keen to learn new skills and be a keen advocate of Asset Management in the public sphere.

The successful Senior Asset Management Consultant will lead internal project teams and external interactions with clients and will support the growth of SAM / Facilities Management (FM) teams’ services across the UK & Ireland. As part of AECOM’s Technical Practice Network, you will have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues around the world and work on global projects.

Essential Skills/ Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of the ISO 55000 suite of standards and the practical implementation to deliver improvements in asset management
  • With a background in infrastructure or property, an ability to deliver asset management improvement projects in complex infrastructure environments, which deliver real and lasting improvements to our clients
  • Ability to lead teams consisting of different disciplines
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision to both win and deliver projects
  • Work collaboratively with direct reports and other teams
  • Proactively keep managers advised as to status of assignments with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and risks
  • Continually improve technical knowledge and capabilities
  • Assure quality, quantity, and completeness of assigned tasks
  • Manage small teams (non-direct and potentially direct reports) to complete tasks, projects, and initiatives
  • Willing to receive guidance and feedback from senior team members.
  • Experience of undertaking ISO 55001 Gap Analysis using the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Self-Assessment Methodology
  • Experience of delivering asset management training. We would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have experience of delivering IAM endorsed courses such as the Certificate or Diploma
  • Exposure to data analytics, GIS, coding and/or data visualisation.
