Goldman Sachs Growth Equity seeks to partner with visionary technology founders and management teams to build enduring, category-defining business. The group invests minority stakes in fast-growing companies across the Americas, Europe and Asia to maximize investment value through financial and operational value creation, harnessing the global network and deep industry expertise of Goldman Sachs.
GS Growth is currently investing out of its first $5.2bn flagship fund, across four verticals globally - ‘Enterprise software, Fintech, Health Care and Consumer’. Executive Directors in Growth Equity will be involved in all stages of deals from sourcing, diligence and execution to value creation and governance. The work is very dynamic and exciting, with opportunities to interact with founders and management teams of leading global businesses, while having an important impact on their growth trajectories.
This role is based in London and would cover Europe, with a focus on primarily enterprise software.
Responsibilities
- Developing thematic views on industry verticals
- Sourcing new investment opportunities
- Working with junior team members build detailed financial models
- Interacting with founders and management teams
- Undertaking and leading due diligence responsibilities
- Developing investment theses
- Review and analyze investment opportunities across a range of industry segments
- Participating in investment approval process
- Participating in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments
- Building relationships with management teams and partners
- Helping monitor and manage existing investments and portfolio companies
- Support the operational value creation in portfolio companies
- Serve as board member or board observer on portfolio company boards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in VC or growth equity investing in Europe
- At least 6 years of work experience of which at least 4+ years in an investing role
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Resourcefulness
- Strong financial analysis/modeling experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Passion and curiosity about tech innovations and businesses
- Ability to learn quickly about a variety of industries and businesses
- Ability to self-direct, analyze, evaluate and form judgments

- Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people
