Working at Housing Options you will be part of an enthusiastic and committed team responsible for the assessment and registration of applications for Council Housing. You will also provide a wide range of housing advice tailored to each households housing need.
This post is based at our High Street office in Swansea; you will be required to carry out assessments with clients in our offices, in their homes and over the phone. All assessments are in accordance with the Housing Allocations Policy. Following the assessment of an application for rehousing that may or may not result in a positive outcome), you will be required to provide advice to the customer. When the assessment you have completed is unlikely to result in an offer of Council Accommodation, you will need to manage the expectations of customers, providing information on seeking alternative solutions in a challenging housing market.

You will need confident communication skills as you will meet customers who may be vulnerable, have additional needs or display challenging behaviour.
You will be responsible for a range of tasks involved in registering people onto our waiting lists as well as keeping accurate records, producing statistics and adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
The demand on Social Housing is higher than ever and this role involves managing a large workload in a pressured environment, so the ability to work in this environment is essential.
You will need to be able to work on multiple software packages to effectively manage your caseload.
