Assembly Fitter: Double Day Shift
Business Need / Purpose of Role:
This role is to provide the business with an appropriate level of set skills to carry out strip, assembly, and Instrumentation testing of a range of valves repairs that will be undertaken by the business with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities
But not limited to:
Primary Tasks
- Carry out the assembly and commissioning of repaired or new valves to the appropriate standard and specification set in place by relevant supporting documents.
- Testing of valves to appropriate standard’s or to the client’s specific test requirements.
- Completion of customer specific documentation.
- Ensuring that the appropriate hold points/inspection points are adhered to, as 3rd party signatories/verification.
- Understand the customer’s requirements as regards deliveries which may involve excessive hours to achieve required deliveries
- Maintain a good level of housekeeping within the working environment you are currently in.
- Carry out responsibility with regards the companies, its customers and statutory requirements for health, safety, and the environment.
- Positively promote the company’s products/services/reputation through actions of conduct
· Mentoring apprentices
Objectives:
- To fully understand the customers requirement through relevant documentation + communication from the workshop Assembly Lead & Factory Manager
- Advise individuals who may have come across problems on a build with a suitable and acceptable solution.
- Show a level of competence leadership and direction in obtaining and achieving the company and customers’ requirements on an acceptable standard of repair + deliveries.
- To be more conversant and vigilant as regards requirements of filling in site reports on repairs being carried out
- Reach an acceptable std of competence which allows you/the company to send individuals to site jobs to carry out repairs unsupervised.
Education and/or Experience:
Engineering apprentice trained or equivalent. Engineering background in the valve industry is desirable, but not essential. Good level of knowledge in carrying out control valve assembly and testing. To confidently be able to carry out the installation of instrumentation along with instrumentation diagnostics.
