Job description
Art Services is an essential part of Halcyon Gallery's operations. Our prestigious galleries require a dedicated Art Technician to support all the day to day activities of the galleries and logistics centre.
Candidates must have a full, clean driving licence - PLEASE NOTE THAT CANDIDATES WITHOUT PRIOR EXPERIENCE AND A DRIVING LICENCE CANNOT BE CONSIDERED.
Responsibilities
The role is responsible for providing logistical support for all gallery activities.
This includes:
- Handling all artwork and installations carefully and with due consideration
- Stock management
- Administration of artwork using our database (training provided)
- Packing and unpacking artwork for onward shipping, including crates
- Logging and reporting any damaged pieces whether damaged in the gallery or before arrival
- Occasionally, delivering art to customer sites
- Gallery appearance and daily maintenance/re-hanging as needed
It may be necessary to work weekends and/or long hours on occasion.
Qualifications
At least 3 years of gallery technician experience
Ideally candidates will have been educated to A-Level or equivalent
Full, clean driving licence
Other information
Knowledge of, and qualifications in, using forklift trucks, WAV machines and other warehouse machinery is advantageous but not essential
Reports to: Operations Manager
Salary: Very Competitive
