Job description

Step Teachers are looking for an Art Teacher for a full-time role beginning ASAP and continuing until the end of March. As a long-term position, this position will involve planning and marking. Beyond the current timeframe, the position also has the possibility to lead to a future long-term or permanent role at the discretion of the school.

Located in Norwich, the school is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Art Teacher who will readily engage with the school’s values of curiosity and creativity, with students encouraged to treat learning as an adventure through which they can flourish as happy and fulfilled young people. The achievements of students are celebrated weekly throughout the year in order to emphasise this ethos of education as a continual and richly textured journey, and the school's students and teachers are proud of the close-knit, supporting relationship that exists with parents and the wider local community.

As the ideal Art Teacher for this role, you will:

  • Possess strong knowledge of the Art curriculum across the KS3 and KS4 levels

  • Be able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

  • Upkeep a clean, tidy, and considerate classroom environment

  • Display a strong, mentoring personality toward students

  • Cultivate positive relationships with students, working to inspire good behaviour and a passion for learning

  • Cooperate with and support your colleagues and additional classroom staff

  • Be able to accurately assess and report on your students, and articulate solutions to their difficulties

  • Comply with and implement the school's policies, and take part in their supportive educational ethos

Requirements for this role:

  • QTS or equivalent

  • Recent mainstream school-based experience teaching Art

  • A relevant Art related degree is desirable
