Job description
- Watch over the visitors, staff and art gallery assets and equipment.
- Stand in position for a long period of time
- Meet and greet visitors and clients into the gallery
- Be professional and represent the gallery to the best of your ability at all times
- Direct and inform visitors, so must be able to interact well with others and have good spoken English skills
- Control the number of people allowed into the gallery at any one time
A security officer must be able to expertly handle emergencies and report any hazardous conditions or irregularities to the appropriate personnel. Writing reports may be required.
- Excellent public relations skills as the position require constant interaction with visitors, art gallery staff, and others.
- Excellent appearance (black well-fitted suit, white shirt, black clean smart shoes)
- Due to the nature of the role you will be required to stand for long periods of time
- Timekeeping is essential for this position
- Good written and verbal skills as writing reports and speaking to visitors is a big part of the job. Written reports document any unusual observations or occurrences and daily monitoring of surveillance activities.
Rate:
- Rate of pay: £11.75 per hr
- A number of hours: up to 12hrs per day inclusive of paid lunch break.
- Up to 5 to 6 days are available for the right candidate.
- Availability to work weekends is required
