Full Time Bristol, England 36954 - 46243 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

DeMontfort Fine Art is part of the largest and fastest growing fine art retail group in the UK. Our business embraces those who have a wealth of personality and motivation, and in return offer exciting career opportunities in an inspirational and expanding environment.

We have an exciting opportunity for a national Gallery Technician to join our team. This is a physical role involving the safe moving, manual handling, hanging and wrapping of our art in both galleries and clients homes. As our galleries are located across the UK this role also involves considerable travel to different galleries on a rota basis, helping with the hanging and movement of art for deliveries and artist events.

You will be mainly travelling around our South and Southwest Galleries and we will provide you with a van to use for work purposes.

Rewards and Benefits:

  • We recognise hard work so we give you 33 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays)
  • Develop and advance your career with promotion and progression opportunities
  • Join the wider company at social events throughout the year
  • We offer a 24/7 helpline for you and your relatives, somebody to talk to, mental health assessments and action plans for short term counselling
  • Employee PERKS - we offer you benefits and discounts including food, drink, retailers and fun days out.
  • Seasonal ‘Thank you’ gifts from the company throughout the year
  • Free HQ and Operations parking

Role Requirements:

  • Driving across the south and south west areas of the country to many of our galleries to assist the gallery staff
  • Moving art work on a daily basis which will include a number of pieces at different sizes and weights
  • Managing stock control and reporting any issues with your line manager
  • Supporting gallery staff on home visits when needed – moving and hanging considerable sized pieces in clients home
  • Packing and wrapping artwork to a very high standard when touring or moving stock to different locations

Your skills:

  • The role requires that you have a naturally positive and professional attitude and helpful approach as you will be the face of our company
  • A full UK Driving licence – experience with driving a van is a luxury but not a necessity
  • Confidence and experience driving across the country
  • Able to work Monday – Friday with the additional weekend and evening cover for events and home approval support
  • Comfortable with using ladders to hang art work (training will be provided)
  • Experience with dealing with stock take and scanning systems
