Job description
REPORTING:
ABOUT US:
With four agencies worldwide, NEW YORK, PRINCETON, BARCELONA, and of course LONDON, we are one of the most famous dedicated Healthcare groups in the world and our ability to change lives is growing all the time.
CDM London, located in the Omnicom building at 3 Bankside near Southwark bridge, has established itself in the last five years as one of the top creative Healthcare agencies in London and yes, even the world.
The agency leadership, leading a strong team producing great work, has resulted in an excellent creative reputation and a flourishing and growing business. A bar set in 2015 at Cannes Health Lions resulted in CDM London being runner up in Cannes Health Agency of the Year, the driving force behind The CDM Group being named Cannes Health Agency Network of the Year. This has been followed by consistent showings at awards with a ‘Best in show’ at the PM society awards in 2017 and multiple awards at The Creative Floor awards, most recently a total of four bricks in 2022.
This renaissance has been built on the values on which CDM was founded in 1984: Substance, Style, Conviction & Grace. We believe in our values; live our values; and evaluate ourselves and each other on our values.
- We’re in the business of communicating ideas about health. So we insist on, and value, substance. This means understanding medicine. Knowing the data. Digging into science. Appreciating what it’s like to be a patient. And surrounding ourselves with those who can help us learn and understand even more.
- We believe in bringing style and creativity to everything we do. Because even though we live in the world of healthcare (where substance truly matters), we still have to compete to be heard. Creativity is a powerful and necessary business tool that can give brands – and our clients – a meaningful edge.
- We believe that medicine is a powerful force for good. It can ease suffering and save or extend human life. But fighting disease takes more than great medicine, it also takes great communication. That’s why we have such conviction about the work we do, the brands we create, and the clients we serve.
- We care deeply about our work and about the people we work with. Civility, dignity, decency, and respect are what we expect from ourselves and from each other. We strive to be collegial partners and collaborators and do our best to navigate even the most difficult situations with grace.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The continued growth of CDM London demands that we constantly aim to expand our offer to existing and new clients. With the majority of our work being global Healthcare or Biotech creative campaigns needing big ideas and unconventional thinking we find ourselves in need of an Art director to join our growing creative team.
At CDM we don’t have set art director/copywriter teams, which keeps the collaboration fluid and the work energized. This doesn’t negate the art and copy team dynamic but it can also mean working in small teams of three or individually, depending on the brief. Either way, the best idea wins and we always try to maintain the highest standards of creativity and push our clients.

The word we use to describe what we do and why we do it, is “be lifechanging”.
A lot of major agency groups have a healthcare wing or division, but for CDM, healthcare and creating lifechanging work is in our DNA. It’s our ‘why’.
Lifechanging is about the work and the effect we can have on patients’ lives but it’s also relevant to our own staff and clients. Working with CDM is often described as a lifechanging experience.
