About the role
At Sodexo we know how important our fantastic family of Administrators are – keeping our site running smoothly, and we have a fantastic opportunity for an Administrator to join our prestigious Colchester garrison.
Being the go-to administrator for our team, you’ll be super organised and assisting with a variety of things from supporting at reception duties to finance, invoices and payments, responding to email/phone calls.

Being a team player is important, but you’ll also need to be able to work well on your own! Previous experience in a similar role would be ideal, but if you have great people skills, we’d love to hear from you!

Main responsibilities
- Assist the Officer Tutor (OT) with any other Officer Education courses or administrative tasks as required.
- Provide course loading advice to Service personnel.
- Update and record learner records on Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) and Microsoft SharePoint databases as required.
- Maintain effective communication with Colchester Garrison’s individual Unit Career Management departments.
- Complete data returns for Educational and Training Services
- Assist the group Admin Manager to maintain Land Forces Personal Information Asset Register.
- Place routine online stationery orders.
- Provide assistance and cover to the Centre Administrator and Receptionist as required and when directed by Headquarters.
- At the direction of relevant Authority Personnel perform general duties
- To continue to develop one’s own skills and knowledge within the position, including any required training courses
Essential
- 5 GCSEs Grade C or equivalent NVQ Business Administration Level 2
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to tight timeframes
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of working with military IT systems.
- Knowledge and experience of working within a military environment.
