We are currently recruiting an Area Team Leader based within our Hull distribution site for an 18 month fixed term contract. The role will see the successful candidate working in a position of responsibility across a 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm Monday - Friday shift pattern, with flexibility required to work the occasional weekend when required by the business. Shift allowance will be provided to accommodate this pattern.
You will be leading and supporting the distribution team to work as efficiently and cost effectively as possible, as well as the business objectives being met through clear communication and clarity of objectives. The role will mentor and develop a team of up to 20 Operatives, so people management experience is essential.

Essential Job Functions

Support improvements in quality and safety compliance and performance through adherence to the site quality manual and the FDA quality system regulation, as well as ISO 13485.

Identify quality issues as they occur and ensure that adequate solutions are put in place to address root causes.

Lead and support improvements in financial indicators through effective review of KPI’s (mainly around Waste, Recovery and Errors and Omissions) to address any measures which are below target, as well as understand and interpret material variance data from SAP.

Lead and support improvements in product delivery and customer service through the achievement of department production schedules, effective planning, and quality release as well as particular attention being paid to New Product Development introductions to ensure that these are properly accommodated within plans and delivered.

Support improvements in team engagement, reward, and recognition and address any measures which are below target.
Requirements
-
A degree in a relevant technical subject and a minimum of 3 -5 years at a managerial level gained in a manufacturing or technical environment.

Experience gained within a manufacturing environment, ideally within a distribution background.

People management experience

Proven understanding of manufacturing / operational practices and procedures.

Experience applying quality standards to a manufacturing setting, specifically GMP, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.

Qualifications in a warehouse based environment such as forklift driving would be desirable but not essential.
