SoSweet are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Retail Area Sales Supervisor to be responsible for a number of our stores across Devon, Cornwall and Dorset.
Established in 2014, SoSweet is a family-run business that is widely recognised as ‘the UK’s favourite sweet shop’. We currently operate seven retail stores in the South West of England with plans to grow to up to 20 stores in the next three to five years.
This is an exciting opportunity for a switched on and highly motivated individual to join a fast growing company at an early stage. This role requires enthusiasm and self-motivation as most days are spent in-store working alongside supervisors and in front of customers, often away from home. The ability to communicate effectively is key and the successful candidate will be confident and have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work at a high level under pressure. Excellent time management is a must as the job role requires planning your own time to achieve necessary goals as well as liaising with our Area Manager and our Directors.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Visiting stores on a rotational basis
- Working closely with management to push the company forward
- Motivating staff to meet their targets and helping them to achieve their goals
- Hiring new staff and overseeing staffing levels within the business
- Mediating disputes between employees
- Identifying areas for development and improvement within the business
- Implementing action plans that lead to change or improvement
- Ensuring consistently high store standards and excellent customer service across the business
- Ensure compliance with company’s policies and operational guidelines
Must haves:
- Excellent ability to manage your own time
- The ability to work on own initiative and to drive improvement and change as necessary
- A keen eye for merchandising and the benefits of colour and locational placements
- Computer literate, able to work with an EPOS system and Excel etc.
- Retail experience at management level
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Full Driving Licence
- Flexible and self-motivated
- Ability to analyse a problem and implement the best possible solution
Preferred but not essential:
- Understanding of basic food hygiene and Environmental Health standards within a retail environment
