We are currently looking for an Area Sales Representative to join our Peterborough Team.
Your primary role will be to build relationships with larger customers / decision makers / buyers who are likely to be working on bigger projects and would not traditionally drop into the trade counter on a day to day basis. You will be responsible for feeding the branch customers and a pipeline of future business, also acting as an artery of communication between the branch and its customers.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

- Good organisational skills.
- Enthusiastic and keen to develop new skills and learn more about new product ranges.
- Experience within the building materials industry – preferred but not essential.
- At least 3 years' experience with External Sales required.
Your regular responsibilities will include:
- Staying close to regular customers.
- Making site visits for consultation with customers on projects to provide advice and support in matters relating to our products.
- Following up and updating notes on quotes from the previous week(s) until they are secured or we understand why they were lost.
- Actively chasing prospective customers.
- Actively using the lead generation database in order to track and secure new projects.
- Supporting the branch in assisting and advising customers where required.
- Identifying areas of opportunity (customers / products / competition).
- Accurately reporting weekly activities and any significant changes in the local market (competitors / contractor activity) to the National Sales Manager.

*Average 44.5 hour shifts per week, Monday - Friday (7:30am - 5pm) and alternative Saturdays (8am - 12pm).
