Established in 1980 we are the largest privately owned self-storage company in the UK operating 15 sites across the country from Gloucester to Redruth and across to Swansea. We are a company with big ambitions who prides itself on strong foundations built around its team.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for leaders who will engage, inspire and coach their teams to deliver exceptional site standards, a strong commercial footprint and an excellent customer service culture.
We are looking for a confident, self-motivated individual to take on this key role and help deliver our high standards.
Based ideally close to the M5 corridor between Bridgwater and Bristol, you will be responsible for the daily management of 8 sites from Devon, to Bristol and Swansea.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director the successful applicant will be enthusiastic, highly organised and have the ambition and motivation to develop both themselves and our business.
This exciting and challenging role will include:
o Delivering budgeted forecasts
o Leading an existing team of 8 Depot Managers within your area
o Supporting the local onsite marketing and business development of sites
o Cost management
o Operational support for the sites daily
o Supporting new site openings
o Creating a positive atmosphere at the depots
o Recruiting and developing new team members
o Managing behaviours effectively and responsibly, promoting good practice to ensure a safe and positive working environment.
o Management of quality standards on your sites, ensuring Dainton’s exceptional standards and brand is maintained
o Operational and security auditing
o Holiday / sickness cover
About you
Ideally you will have multi-site management experience. Experience in the self-storage industry is desirable, but not essential, as long as you can demonstrate you are able to fulfil these duties. In order to do so, the ideal candidate will have:
o Ability to motivate self and others
o A hands-on problem solving approach
o A positive can-do attitude and sense of humour
o Experience in multi-site management in retail or sales roles
o Experience / knowledge of social media and digital/online marketing
o IT literate – Microsoft packages and ability to learn a new system
o Property management experience
o Ability to build internal and external relationships
o Excellent communications skills
o Be able to work on your own and as part of a team
o Basic understanding of accounting
o Attention to detail
o Reliability and integrity
o Full UK Driving license
o The ability to be flexible in your working hours in order to get the job done
