About The Role
Purpose of Role:
Provide supportive and inspirational leadership to Home Managers and home teams within area of responsibility, ensuring the delivery of the kindest care to Residents. Supporting homes to become the first choice in the communities they serve for Residents, Relatives, Colleagues and Commissioners. The Area Director will ensure homes comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements and support and enable Home Managers to deliver the highest quality, people and commercial performance.
Your role will involve:
- Through strong leadership, inspire and support Home Managers to develop high performing teams that achieve excellent standards in every home. Setting objectives aligned to operational and financial targets
- Lead the implementation of all quality initiatives and processes that improve the quality of life of Residents and the delivery of the best health and care experience within area, which include rolling out initiatives to improve care, clinical quality, training and preparation for regulatory inspections, demonstrable through outcomes for Residents.
- Work systematically with Home teams to develop and deliver each Home’s improvement plan to drive positive Resident outcomes and working towards and achieving the highest possible regulatory outcomes.
- Working with support colleagues to facilitate delivery of SLA’s and targets in Area.
- Developing strong relationships with commissioners and external professionals to ensure the homes in your Area are the first choice in their communities and optimising the reputation of HC-One. Improve the quality of your internal and external network of relationships with customers and other organisations including CCG’s, Local Authorities, private and voluntary sector organisations and societies.
- Provide expertise and advice on adult protection/safeguarding issues and ensure internal audit’s measure and monitor compliance with HC One adult protection/safeguarding policies and guidelines.
- Mentor, coach, develop and support Home Managers on effective home and people management best practice.
- Recognising indicators of poor performance or poor quality and acting quickly to remedy.
- Seek opportunities to improve the financial performance. Maintaining and executing a financial improvement plan(s) that includes revenue-raising and cost-efficiency initiatives, and apply resources as appropriate to underperforming homes.
- To support HC-One in becoming a learning organisation by ensuring incidents are fully investigated through robust root cause analysis and ensuring measures are implemented effectively to prevent further reoccurrence; and learnings are shared appropriately across home teams and the wider organisation.
