Job Title: Technologist / Technician
Role description:
We require a Technologist / Technician with excellent experience in the residential sector and keen interest in sustainable design to join our Design & Build Zero Carbon construction company: Caber House.
Role Requirements:
The role requires an exceptional member of staff who is skilled, dedicated and self-motivated.
Personal Qualities: You should be: Professional, responsible, positive, flexible, pro-active, and have initiative. You will have a proven track record of delivering high quality residential buildings.
Skills Required: Outstanding communication, both written and verbal. Excellent detailing skills and ability to explore new ways of construction. Excellent interpersonal skills to work with clients and colleagues. Able to plan ahead, problem solve, find creative solutions, realise ideas and work as part of team.
You will be taking the lead in the technical detailing and development of our close panel timber frame system, as well as assisting with the production of Building Warrant and Construction packages. Experience producing panel drawings for manufacture would also be of great benefit and any specific software can be implemented if it is the correct solution.
Passivhaus experience and experience specifying renewables and sustainable materials will be beneficial but not essential.
Ideally you will have a background in sustainable design and building. You will be working closely with our design team, our manufacturing team, and our on-site delivery team. It is essential that every staff member is able to work as needed and respond effectively and quickly. Your role may require some overseeing of other technical staff, and you should be as comfortable managing people as taking direction.
We have sites throughout the UK and you may be required to carry out site visits, inspections, and progress meetings on a regular basis.
Software: ArchiCAD BIM (training available), MS Office.
Qualifications: CIAT (other experienced candidates may be considered)
