About us
The Western Trading Group was established over 30 years ago and remains under private ownership. We have become a leading privately owned developer, landlord and investment agent in the West-Midlands with further substantial interests in the Northamptonshire and Yorkshire regions.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a number of commercial and residential projects in the Midlands, ranging from small to large in scale and providing hands-on experience and direct involvement as projects progress. This will include working with external disciplines and consultants across a number of fields, providing a breadth of insights and learning in the construction industry with one of the UK's fastest growing privately-owned property development firms.

Qualifications:
Minimum RIBA Part I, degree level: (BA (Hons) Architecture).
Minimum of 1 year UK experience in working practice required.
Production and Project Skills:
- Ability to use ArchiCAD would be highly advantageous.
- Must be able to use 3D BIM/Architectural Software
- Understanding and ability to organize 3D BIM information via worksets/layers/phases/categories/layers etc.
- Ability to demonstrate capability of hand-drawing/sketching to demonstrate ideas/concepts and solutions with spatial understanding.
- Ability to use rendering software, previous experience with Twinmotion would be highly advantageous.
- Use Microsoft Excel and Word proficiently.
- Must have the ability to use Adobe packages (InDesign, Photoshop) proficiently for production of reports, schedules, packages, photo editing, visuals, and other materials required for design team co-ordination and design information/tender information.
- Ability to manipulate/produce 2D CAD drawings and dwg/dxf. Files.
- Produce drawings of various types at various scales including sections, elevations, plans, details, 3D axonometric or cut throughs.
- Ability to communicate project information to other disciplines and consultants, and coordinate between project team members.
- An understanding of UK statutory regulations is essential.

- Excellent design ability, problem solving and organizational abilities.
- Experience on-site and an understanding of construction methods, UK building regulations and planning processes.
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of elements involved in developing an architectural project/development proposal in a commercial environment.
- Be self-motivated, taking initiative to plan and manage your own time and progress.
- An understanding of UK statutory regulations is essential.
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 17-24 per week
Salary: £80.00-£100.00 per day
