Our Design and Construction Project Management teams at Tesla deliver services for new Tesla showrooms, service centers, delivery hubs, bodyshops and distribution centers across the region. You will work with the design manager to deliver individual projects either with a focus on design and/ or construction management, and work with the brightest people to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. The Role: Tesla is looking for a motivated and experienced Part 2 Architectural Assistant who wants to work in a dynamic, innovative and energetic team.
The Architectural assistant is to provide two main functions:
- Provide design intent and detailed drawings for retro-fit construction projects for new and existing Tesla Service and Sale Centers, Bodyshops and Distribution Centers. Contribute, or otherwise assist, as required by the architectural and urban design teams
- Seek to understand the design project, assisting with formulating the brief and communicating the brief effectively to colleagues as required
- Use the guidance of the project leader or nominated design manager to prepare, develop and edit the drawings, models, images, and other documents relating to the design
- Where required, create representations of design options for the design team
- Where required, create bid and construction packs for the design team
- Responsible to engage with Architect of Records to perform site measurements and visiting sites to gain a clear understanding of existing conditions.
- Responsible to create a basic test fit of the desired location ensuring designability and present such test fit with cross functional team member and redesign as necessary to achieve alignment.
- Work with in-house Security/ IT/Tooling and Equipment Specialist/ EHS to ensure alignment of their deliverable of drawings + specs + equipment list for new locations.
- Create Design Intent Drawings within the REVIT platform
- Review design intents and confirm constructability.
- Perform page turn with Architect of Records and their engineers to ensure top performance and best cost benefit solution.
- Submit approved CAPEX drawings back to Architect of Records to confirm adjustments.
- Creating bid package
- Monitor projects to ensure design intent and brand standards are followed.
- Responsible to review and approve 3rd party invoices.
- Ideally several years post qualification experience
- Used to working to UK building regulations
- Understanding of project scheduling and the ability to communicate and work closely with consultants to ensure that project milestones are being met on time and complete.
- Proficient in REVIT and BIM 360
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud package, full understanding of CAD applications and international drawing convention standards.
- Strong understanding of Construction Technical Engineering and its implementation processes
- Experience working with authorities and be able to build strong relationship with local jurisdictions
- Advanced project management skills, demonstrated application of project and program management fundamentals to complex engineering problems
- Ability to effectively execute many projects and tasks in parallel
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with ability to understand complex problems and distil the message into a clear plan
- Positive, enthusiastic, fast learner, can-do mindset and passionate about manufacturing infrastructure
- Willingness to travel
